‘Ms. Bollywood’ Rani Patel is Hindu, from a family of famous wrestlers in India, with lineage to ancient warriors. She represented her country in the Olympic Freestyle Wrestling event, winning a gold medal. After participating in reality TV show “India’s Got Talent”, she went on to pursue an acting career in the Bollywood movie industry. Having won many accolades such as Best Actress (and earning lots of rupees), she shocked the world by wanting to return to her family’s wrestling roots and pursue a professional wrestling career.
Rani was trained by her guru, The Great Sajith, in the art of Malla-Yuddha, the 5,000-year-old Indian/South-Asian form of wrestling. While this training is a basis for her wrestling style, she’s adapted to and excelled in professional wrestling since she joined VWE in 2014. She won the VWE Women’s International Championship the following year (2015), and today she thrives as a top Bombshell Superstar in the VWE.
Fun fact: Rani has a pet elephant, Shiva, that she rides, teaches tricks, and travels with, whenever possible. Shiva roams the Rivula Wildlife Preserve (that Rani founded), where retired elephants, cows and horses live out their later years.
